Standout Features on Winnebago RV Models
Winnebago has spent a long time innovating in the RV industry, which has given them plenty of time to develop interesting, helpful, and absolutely game-changing features to improve the camping experience.
Here are a few features you’ll find across Winnebago’s lineup.
SuperStructure®
The SuperStructure® is a steel construction that surrounds the cab of their Class A coaches, offering strength for a smoother ride. This integrates the walls, roof, and floor into one unit, which should increase the structural support. The SuperStructure is made from both aluminum and steel to provide additional structural support where needed and to offer a lightweight material to increase fuel efficiency. In addition, thermo-panel walls are sturdy, lightweight, and insulated.
SuperShell™ Sleeper Deck
The SuperShell is a composite hull that’s found in the over-cab area of Winnebago’s Class C RVs. It features injected foam insulation to provide plenty of insulated comfort for sleeping—as well as protection from outdoor noise. The shape and construction of the SuperShell sleeper decks maintain aerodynamics for better fuel efficiency. Inside, guests have integrated lighting, ventilation, and often entertainment options.
WinnSleep® Mattress System
The WinnSleep system cools the mattress in order to create a comfortable environment that promotes better sleep. Some models feature a memory foam mattress to upgrade the MOAB bed. Explore the various models to see if they are equipped with the WinnSleep mattress system.
Winnebago Control Panel with Smart Device App
This control panel allows you to perform a variety of tasks, like check tank levels, operate awnings, and in some cases start the generator. Smart device integration allows you to also control everything from your tablet or smartphone and monitor RV data such as your battery levels,, tank levels, temperature settings, and more. Some systems may allow you to integrate RV security so you can monitor cameras, lock doors, and more.
Winnebago’s Manufacturing History
Founded in 1958 in Forest City, Iowa, the original idea behind Winnebago was to manufacture travel trailers in order to boost the small community’s economy. As they grew and evolved, Winnebago began to design and build the furniture that would go inside their RVs, making certain that it was built for the rigors of regular travel—as well as cementing the future of an industry built for RVing.
The company continued to grow and, in 1966, introduced its first motorhome. In order to bolster sales, they offered their camper to the market at a steep discount compared to competitors, which made them an instant hit. So much so that the term “Winnebago” was commonly used when referring to RVs in general, whether built by the company or not.
Winnebago has had decades in the industry to innovate not only the designs of their motorhomes and trailers, but to introduce new technologies and features that have become ubiquitous throughout RVing. Browse the many different Winnebago RV models and you’ll see a trend of innovation, stylistic advances, and careful attention to quality that matches the needs of the RV lifestyle.
Today, Winnebago Industries owns Grand Design RV and Newmar Corporation, as well as boat manufacturers Kris Kraft and Barletta.
Winnebago’s Customer Support
On top of such a storied history, Winnebago has a long track record of happy customers. That happens in part because of their dedication to customer service. Beyond providing reliable Winnebago RV models year after year, they offer a range of different warranties, and owner resources, and continue to improve what they offer buyers with such developments as the Winnebago mobile app and GoLife Community.
Warranty
Winnebago RVs have different levels of warranties. Specific warranty information can be found in the owner’s manual of each RV, and Winnebago owners can contact them for more specific information.
Owner Resources
Winnebago offers owners a dedicated page that groups together the majority of resources one might need, in one simple place. These include FAQs, a 3D parts lookup tool, a video library with helpful how-to and informative videos, and a service locator tool, among others.
Winnebago App
Being on the go means being mobile. Much of the information above can also be found in a dedicated Winnebago app designed for smart devices. Educational information like how-tos is also available on the app as well as tools for finding RV service providers near your location.
GoLife Community
GoLIfe is a perks program designed for Winnebago owners. It offers discounts at campgrounds like Kampgrounds of America, discounts to Passport America and Harvest Hosts, and deals on Winnebago Outdoor Adventures presented by Fantasy RV Tours. It also includes discounts on RV gear like Michelin tires, roadside assistance, and RV insurance.
Winnebago—their products, technology, and customer attention—is highly revered in the RV industry. And for good reason. It’s a major reason why RVing is such a popular pastime today. And thanks in large part to their dedication and service to the industry, the lifestyle has only improved.
